Greek Islands Program Coming to Bloomingdale Library

A virtual tour of the Greek Islands will take place during “Taste the World: The Greek Islands” from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 16 at the Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale.

Travelers Susan Miura and Patt Nicholls will begin the presentation in Athens before heading out to some of the breathtaking islands in the Aegean Sea. Highlights include picturesque Mykonos, famous for its windmills, beaches, and whitewashed houses; Santorini, so beautiful it has become a top destination for wedding ceremonies; Patmos, known as the Holy Island of the Revelation; Rhodes, Crete and even an island in Turkey. Attendees will see colorful slides of beaches, ruins, churches, volcanoes, scenic harbors, castles and more. Greek cuisine will also be discussed, and a Greek snack will be provided.
