Schaumburg Park District Theater presents Bye Bye Birdie

Rock and roll is coming to the Community Recreation Center!

Schaumburg Park District Theater will perform Bye Bye Birdie, one of the most captivating musicals of our time, at 7 p.m., July 19; 6 p.m., July 20; and 2 p.m., July 21 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.

The play follows a quiet, calm town in Ohio that is turned upside down when rock and roll musician Conrad Birdie arrives to make a “farewell” television performance and kiss his biggest fan before being drafted.

“Bye Bye Birdie features sixty performers of all ages and skill levels of acting experience from Schaumburg and the surrounding communities,” said Beth Waller, cultural arts supervisor for the District. “It is amazing to have so many some incredible singers, dancers and actors in this show that is sure to leave the audience with happy faces.”

Tickets are available for purchase starting June 24. Cost is $7 for youths ages 12 and younger, and $12 for adults ages 13 and older. Children younger than age 2 are free if held.
