Mystic Waters Opens for Preseason

Mystic Waters Family Aquatic Center, 2025 Miner Street, opened for preseason week on June 1, with eager swimmers not worried about threatening skies. The first one in the pool this season was 7 year old Maggie Martin, and Alex Lamon, 19, was first down the big water slide. Mystic Waters closed early due to thunderstorms, but patrons can expect to spend plenty of time in the pool this summer as the summer heat rolls in.

One of the largest water parks in Northern Illinois, Mystic Waters is open for preseason from noon until 7:00pm through June 7. During the regular season, June 8-August 11, Mystic Waters is open weekdays, 11:00am-9:00pm and weekends, 11:00am-8:00pm. Post-season, August 12-18, the pool is open from noon to 7:00pm, and on August 24-25, the pool is open for the final weekend from noon to 7:00pm. The popular water park features two 37-foot slides in Otter's Run, drop slides and cliff dive platforms in Sea Lion Falls, a 550-foot lazy river in Crocodile Cove where patrons can relax and float on inner tubes, Dolphin Bay a zero depth leisure pool featuring both roped-off lanes for lap swimming and a child-size dolphin slide, and Beluga Beach: a splash pad area with a jungle gym on a non-slip surface, water sprays, and fountains. It's perfect for tots and non-swimmers.

Season pool passes are now available for purchase at Mystic Waters, daily from 11am-4pm, as well as at the Leisure Center, 2222 Birch St. and Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St. For information about having a party at Mystic Waters or renting the brand new Chippewa Pool for a private event, call 847-391-5700.
