Northwest Community Healthcare names new officers

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 31, 2013) – Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) has named three executives to leadership positions at the Arlington Heights-based healthcare system.

NCH announced it has promoted Michael Hartke from Executive Vice President, Systems Operations, to Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Hartke will be responsible for hospital operations along with the Northwest Community Health Partners PHO, the NCH Medical Group, Immediate Care Centers, performance improvement and information technology initiatives.

“Michael’s background and experience will be beneficial for the coordination between hospital operations and our efforts related to the development of a system of care,” said NCH CEO Steve Scogna. “Michael’s leadership and dedication have been significant reasons that NCH has improved its operating performance over the past two years.”

NCH has named Kim Nagy as Chief Nursing Officer after completing a nationwide search. Nagy is a veteran healthcare executive who most recently served as Vice President of Operations and Chief Nurse Executive at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. “Kim was selected for the position based upon her outstanding leadership and dedication to nursing quality and satisfaction,” Scogna said. “She also has a reputation as a strong physician partner, who is focused on a team approach. We are very fortunate to have her join NCH.”

NCH also announced that Controller Marsha Liu has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer for the organization. Liu has played a key role in financial improvement initiatives at NCH during the past year. Prior to arriving at NCH, Liu held various financial leadership roles during her 10 years at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare and also was an Audit Manager for the international accounting firm Arthur Andersen and Company. Liu begins her new role at NCH in early June.

“I am very excited to add these experienced leaders to our executive team,” Scogna said. “I look forward to working with them in positioning NCH for a strong and successful future.”
