Communication workshop for couples offered June 6

A common thread among couples that can tear at their relationship is the differences in their communication styles. To address this issue, Personal Growth Associates is holding a workshop focused on communication for couples. “My focus is on helping the couple to learn a different way of communicating so that they can resolve their impasses and, ultimately, restore their connection,” states Dr. Mark Vogel, workshop facilitator and psychologist at Personal Growth Associates.

Common signs of poor communication include:

- Having the same arguments over and over again

- Consistently having misunderstandings that get blown out of proportion

- Seeming to easily become distant and disconnected

This workshop will cover:

- How men and women talk differently

- What doesn't work in communication and what to do instead

- Ways to restore and maintain a connection in your relationship

As a certified Imago therapist, Dr. Mark Vogel works with couples who have become disconnected in their relationship. He works to help each partner realize their emotional impact on the other, and then to facilitate a deeper understanding, acceptance, of their differences. This paves the way for each partner to view the other in a more empathetic way. Partners learn to communicate more clearly and without judgment, which strengthens the relationship.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, June 6 from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Personal Growth Associates, 919 N. Plum Grove Rd, Suite C in Schaumburg. To reserve your spot, please contact Dr. Mark Vogel at (847)413-9700 ext 318 or mvogel55@yahoo.com. The fee for this workshop is $25.
