OLD MILL CREEK, IL May 13, 2013
The Millburn District 24 Education Foundation (MEF) is proud to announce the winner of its annual scholarship award to a graduating high school senior who attended Millburn School District 24. Each year, one recipient is awarded a $2,000 scholarship to help advance their academic and professional development.
"Our Foundation is anchored on supporting education and is proud to help well deserving past Millburn students who plan to continue their academic endeavors beyond high school," said MEF President David Bending.
The 2013 scholarship recipient is Rachel Lily Terry of Lindenhurst, IL, a graduate of Lakes Community High School. Rachel has demonstrated outstanding academic performance in her four years at Lakes High School, and made significant contributions to the community.
The MEF scholarship is available annually to past students of Millburn School District 24 Elementary or MIddile School. Applicants are judged on their academic achievements, community involvement, and an essay.
The award is funded by contributions from members and friends of the Millburn District 24 community.
The Millburn Education Foundation was founded in 2006. The purpose of the Foundation is to creatively generate, accept, and distribute resources with which to enrich and enhance the opportunities and educational experiences of the District's students.
