Mundelein High students win awards at leadership competition

Mundelein High School’s Future Business Leaders of America brought home a number of awards in various categories at the state competition held in April.

First-place awards went to Matt Cushman, Nate Green and Mac Holmes in Business Ethics; Steven Chin in Computer Problem Solving; Edward Salse and Adam Vander Ploeg in Digital Design and Promotion; and T.J. Maple and Owen McCarthy in Management Decision Making.

Second-place winners were Michael Campbell and Casey Tangonan in Desktop Publishing; Zach Brown and Justin Daoey in Global Business; Alex Guiritan in Intro to Parliamentary Procedures; and Alex Espinosa in Intro to Technology Concepts.

Taking third-place honors were Monika Bowser and Kelly Vander Ploeg in Digital Video Production; Sam Miller in Electronic Career Portfolio; Aakash Choubal, Kristin Doering and Luke Nicholson in Marketing; Chris Cygnus in Networking Concepts; and Kyle Job in Word Processing I.

During the conference, Steven Chin was elected state reporter.

“Congratulations to all members who participated,” said adviser Chris Hoster. “Members are looking forward to competing at the FBLA National Competition in June.”
