Elks Youth Week Proclaimed in Des Plaines

The first week of May is traditionally Elks Youth Week in Des Plaines. Members of Elks Lodge #1526 were on hand to witness Acting Mayor Mark Walsten sign an official Elks Youth Week Proclamation in the Mayor's City Hall Office. According to the Proclamation, “The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has designated the first week in May as Youth Week to honor America's Junior Citizens for their accomplishments, and to give fitting recognition of their services to Community, State and Nation.” Throughout the year the Elks Club hosts youth oriented events in the community.
