Lake Park bats have a busy day

Kelly O’Neill hit a two-run homer in the first game and three-run shot in the second, Danielle Jecmen went deep with her fourth homer, a two-run shot, and Lake Park pounded out a combined 37 hits in sweeping host Conant 15-5 and 11-3 on Saturday.

Shannon Fritsche and Stephanie Starr each had 2 doubles in Game 1 for Lake Park (9-1), which put up 9 runs in the fifth inning. Stephanie Sturino also homered in Game 2.

Naperville Central 6, Plainfield North 2:Keegan Hayes (4-0) struck out 11 in a two-hitter for the visiting Redhawks (6-0). Megan Nerger was 2-for-3 with a two-run single and 2 runs scored, Maddi Doane was 2-for-4 and Laura Dierking 2-for-3.Willowbrook 8-6, Elmwood Park 4-8:Sam Schmidt homered twice in Game 1 for Willowbrook (5-1), and also went deep and drove in 6 runs in the second game. Darian Pelsor and Schmidt hit back-to-back homers in the first inning of the first game.Naperville North 5-3, South Elgin 3-2:Kailee Budicin and Rachel Aiardo both homered in the first game, and Paige Allen, Kelsey Warren and Rachel Martin all went 2-for-3 in Game 2 for the Huskies (3-1). Alexis Solak also went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Game 1.Regina Dominican 14, Wheaton Academy 4:Marissa Gagliano tallied her 100th varsity hit for the Wildcats (1-2), but Regina hit 5 home runs, 3 of them in a big 9-run sixth inning.Hinsdale Central 14-4, Glenbard East 4-1:Emma Day homered twice for the Red Devils.
