Meeting to discuss Des Plaines parks’ renovations

The Des Plaines Park District will host a public meeting April 3 to discuss the renovation of Jaycee and Kiwanis parks.

Jaycee Park, 1496 Wicke Ave., and Kiwanis Park, 1700 Lincoln Ave., will be completely renovated in the summer and fall of 2013.

“The goal of the renovations is to provide safe, modern, and unique play experiences to enhance the recreational opportunities in these two vibrant neighborhoods,” said Paul Cathey, superintendent of parks and planning.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the David L. Markworth Boardroom at the Administrative and Leisure Center, 2222 Birch St., Des Plaines. Park district staff will be available to review the designs and amenities for both parks, and answer questions. The public can review two design concepts for each park on the park district website DPParks.org. A comment page will be provided for residents unable to attend.
