City of Des Plaines Announces New Employment Feature On Website Home Page

Des Plaines Acting Mayor Dick Sayad invites visitors to the City's website home page, www.desplaines.org, to check out the new "Job Opportunities" feature on the right portion of the screen. The feature, which was suggested by Acting Mayor Sayad, links web visitors to current City of Des Plaines job availabilities, as well as positions available through "State of Illinois Employment Sites."

"We felt it was extremely important that we streamline the job search process for our residents and all those seeking employment in our community. This new 'Job Opportunities' feature takes it a step further by providing access to other government positions. During this time when so many individuals are without jobs and seeking employment, it is important that the City be accommodating" Acting Mayor Sayad said.

In addition to the website presence, City of Des Plaines employment opportunities are being presented at City Council Meetings which are televised live on the first and third Monday at 7 PM on Des Plaines Cable Channel 17 on WOW and Comcast. The meetings are also webstreamed and rebroadcast. In addition, jobs posting are made available on the cable channel in the form of bulletin board messages when programming is not running.
