NCH designated breast imaging center of excellence
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (March 19, 2013) – Northwest Community Healthcare's (NCH) Breast Center is now designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
To receive the designation from the ACR, NCH's Breast Center earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).
Peer-review evaluations conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and expert medical physicists determined that the NCH Breast Center has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
With mammography locations in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and Schaumburg, and flexible, one-call scheduling, the Breast Center at NCH is one of the top three providers of mammograms in Illinois. Patients benefit from short wait times for appointments, digital mammography and our trademarked Results by Request™ program. With Results by Request™, our patients can choose to have a one-hour appointment and receive results on the same day, with additional work up as needed, or a 30-minute appointment with results mailed within 24 hours.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 36,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs focusing on medical imaging, radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive healthcare services.
