McHenry man charged with marijuana possession
A 26-year-old McHenry man has been charged with a felony count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver following a tip that he was seen selling drugs around the city of McHenry.
Michael Damore, 26, of the 1700 block of Court Street in McHenry, was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana following his arrest Tuesday.
McHenry County sheriff officials said in a news release early Thursday that they received a citizen tip stating that Damore was seen selling marijuana in and around the city of McHenry.
Sheriff deputies went to Damore’s home and were granted permission to search the residence, authorities said.
Inside, deputies recovered approximately 500 grams of marijuana and $10,000 in cash, authorities said.
The street value of the marijuana seized was about $4,000, authorities said.
Damore was booked into the McHenry County jail following his arrest, but was able to post bond Wednesday.
His next court appearance is unknown at this time.
