All lanes reopened after I-88 crash
The southernmost lane of eastbound I-88 was closed for more than three hours Friday afternoon following a late-morning crash involving three vehicles.
Two trucks and a passenger vehicle were involved in the accident at 11:54 a.m. between Naperville Road and Yackley Avenue, according to Trooper Michele Kistulinec of the Illinois State Police.
Kistulinec said a truck tractor semitrailer changed lanes one to the right and struck a passenger vehicle, then both vehicles entered the right lane and struck a flat bed tow truck. All three wound up in a ditch on the right side of the tollway.
Investigators were working to determine what triggered the accident.
Kistulinec said two people were transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of injuries.
All lanes were reopened just after 3 p.m. Friday, she said.
