Become next master cake decorator with help from Schaumburg Park District

Become the next master cake decorator!

Children ages 4 to 12 will have the opportunity to learn the delicious art of cake decorating in new Schaumburg Park District classes at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane. The classes are taught by Kathy Colombo from PartyCakes PartyCakes, Inc.

The new class series will begin with Smitten with Mittens. Children will decorate brownie mittens with butter cream frosting, colorful fondant, sparkle sugars and candy embellishments from 4 to 4:45 p.m., Jan. 16. Ice Skates, set for 4 to 4:45 p.m., Feb. 4, will allow participants to decorate a pair of round pound cake ice skates. The winter class series will conclude with St. Pat's Clover. Participants will decorate a four leaf clover pound cake with butter cream frosting, chocolate and a rainbow from 4 to 4:45 p.m., March 14.

Children will be provided with an apron, decorations and a baked cake. Children will complete a spectacular dessert by the end of each class.

Pre-registration is required for each class. Registration is available at parkfun.com and District registration facilities. Cost per class is $21 for residents and $31 for non-residents.
