Clark, Evins lead the way as Round Lake rolls to big victory
Justice Clark scored a game-high 14 points, and Morgin Evins added 13, as Round Lake’s girls basketball team defeated host Northtown Academy 63-18 Thursday night for its first win of the season.
Destinee Brown chipped in 11 points for the Panthers, who improved to 1-8. Bianca Mahoney contributed 8 points.
Round Lake led 14-3 after one quarter, 30-7 at halftime and 45-13 after three.
Antioch 44, Kaneland 34: Paige Gallimore scored 17 points, and the host Sequoits rallied from a 25-23 deficit after three quarter in the nonconference game.
It was the fifth straight win for Antioch (9-3). Megan Borries added 9 points.
Vernon Hills 39, Barrington 36: The Cougars won one of their biggest tests of the season, getting 17 points and 7 rebounds from Sydney Smith in the nonconference road game to remain undefeated.
Lauren Webb added 12 points and 6 rebounds for Vernon Hills (11-0), which led 35-16 after three quarters.
Stevenson 34, Warren 25: Sophia Way scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for the visiting Patriots, who their sixth in a row to improve to 6-4 and 3-1 in the North Suburban Lake.
Kari Moffat added 10 points for Stevenson.
Warren (5-5, 3-2) received 5 points apiece from Cassie Christie, Kristin O’Brien and Kyle Nedelka.
