Des Plaines announces cholesterol screening update

Des Plaines Community Health Nurse Madeline May has announced that Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Screenings will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Room 101, City Hall, 1420 Miner St.

A total cholesterol screening costs $6 and does not require fasting.

A cholesterol breakdown with HDL/LDL, triglycerides and glucose requires a 12-hour fast and costs $22.

Both screenings require an appointment. Free blood pressure screenings do not require an appointment and will be available on a walk-in basis from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
