Sport Center hosts winter dodgeball tournaments in January

Dodge, duck and dive at the Winter Nationals Indoor Dodgeball Championships.

The National Amateur Dodgeball Association (NADA) and dodgeball enthusiasts will take over the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, on Jan. 2 and 5 during the Winter Nationals Indoor Dodgeball Championships. Teams in youth and adult divisions will compete for the title of Indoor National Champions in the annual games.

The youth competition, a Schaumburg CAN (Children – Activity – Nutrition) program which promotes healthy activity for children, is set for Jan. 2 for boys and girls in grades 4 to 12. Check-in will begin at 3:30 p.m. with matches following at 4 p.m. Registration deadline for the youth competition is Dec. 20. Youth and high school fee is $105 for a team of 6 to 10 players.

The adult competition for ages 18 and up will be held Jan. 5. Check- in will begin at 1 p.m with matches following at 2 p.m. Men's, women's and co-rec divisions are available. Registration deadline for the adult competition is Dec. 29. Adult fee is $125 for a team of 6 to 10 players.

The Winter Nationals is a NADA sanctioned event with games officiated by NADA staff. All players will receive a T-shirt. Team prizes will be awarded to champions.
