Probation for Glendale Heights teens who pelted cars with rocks
Three Glendale Heights men were sentenced to probation Monday for pelting cars with rocks from a village railroad overpass last month.
Eighteen-year-olds Marvin Brown, Rodney King and Raheim Grier each pleaded guilty to vehicular endangerment. DuPage County Judge Blanche Hill Fawell sentenced them to three years of probation and time served in jail.
Assistant State’s Attorney Mary Cronin said the trio trespassed onto a railroad bridge at Glen Ellyn Road and Windy Point Drive early Sept. 13 and threw rocks at vehicles passing below. One vehicle’s roof was struck, but no one was injured, according to police.
All three men were located near the scene and admitted their involvement, Cronin said in court.
Brown, of the 200 block of East Alpine Drive; Grier, of the 100 block of Bayberry Court; and King, of the 300 block of Sandra Court, could have faced up to seven years in prison if convicted of the felony charge at trial. They had been in the county jail since their arrest and were expected to be released Monday.
Also charged in connection with the case were 19-year-olds Parrish Lynch and Aaron Swan, also of Glendale Heights. Lynch and Swan are not accused of throwing rocks but have been charged with misdemeanor trespassing. The cases are pending.
In another pending case, King is accused of damaging a black Jaguar in Glendale Heights by throwing a rock at it in July, court records show.
