Stevenson High collects thousands for charity

Stevenson High School’s recent Spirit Fest event raised more than $18,600 for the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss, officials said, and the total is expected to climb past $20,000 this month following an online auction. More than 1,600 people attended the bash at the Lincolnshire school, which included an attempt to set a world record for the longest glow stick salsa line. Shortly before the attempt, however, the Guinness World Records organization contacted the school and indicated that it has coalesced all line dancing records into one category, which resulted in a record not being set.
