Schaumburg man with Down syndrome, mother missing
Police are asking for the public’s help finding a Schaumburg woman and her son and are concerned for their well-being.
Family members of Rosa Rosario, 61, who cares for her 41-year-old son Juan Rosario, who has Down syndrome, reported the two missing Wednesday, according to police.
Police said the disappearance is out of character, and that Rosa Rosario left both her cellphone and car at home. She did not leave a note for family, police said.
Rosa Rosario has various medical conditions and takes medications for them. It is not known if she has the medication.
Anyone who sees Rosa or Juan is asked to immediately call 911, and anyone who might have information about either Rosa or Juan is asked to call Schaumburg police investigators at (847) 882-3534.
Rosa Rosario is described as a 5-foot 2-inch, 175-pound Hispanic woman with brown eyes, a dark complexion and gray/black hair that is usually worn in a ponytail. She only speaks Spanish.
Juan Rosario is described as a 5-foot 8-inch, 200-pound Hispanic man with a dark complexion, brown eyes and black curly hair that is usually worn in a short style, according to police. He speaks English.
