Halloween dodgeball tournament bounces into the Sport Center

Wear Halloween costumes and play dodgeball!

The National Amateur Dodgeball Association's annual Great Pumpkin Halloween Dodgeball Tournament will be held Oct. 20 at the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. with matches beginning at 10 a.m.

Dodgeball players dressed in costumes from pirates to Power Rangers will show off their diving, ducking and dodging skills throughout the morning in three-minute games.

The tournament is the first event of the 2012-2013 National Amateur Dodgeball Association (NADA) season. Top teams receive paid bids to the Indoor National Championships in January, 2013.

Games are officiated by NADA staff. All players receive a T-shirt. Team prizes are awarded to champions.

The registration deadline is Oct. 14. The cost for an adult men's, women's or co-rec team of 6 to 10 players is $125. The cost for a high school team of 6 to 10 players is $105.
