Winter musical auditions Sept. 9-10 at Schaumburg Park District

Don't cause a calamity, audition for the best Christmas plays ever!

Auditions for the Schaumburg Park District's winter productions of "Candy Cane Calamity" and "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" will take place from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Sept. 9 and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.

Parts are available for ages 8 to adult. Those auditioning must bring a non-returnable head shot (or school photo) marked with name, age, address and phone number. Actors must prepare a short acapella song and register for a time slot to audition at parkfun.com or District registration facilities. If unable to audition during available time slots, contact the cultural arts supervisor at (847) 490-7015.

Fee is $70 if cast in production. Actors who audition and receive parts in both plays will have a reduced casting fee per show of $60. Additional costume fee may be charged.

"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" will be performed Nov. 9 to 11 and "Candy Cane Calamity" on Dec. 1 at the Community Recreation Center.
