Open house tours at NCH's Day Surgery Center
Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is inviting the community to take a closer look at the NCH Day Surgery Center during an open house on Saturday, August 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to tour one of Illinois' largest and busiest ambulatory surgery centers.
The NCH Day Surgery Center staff will guide attendees through the pre-operative, operating room and recovery areas. Laparoscopic hernia, knee arthroscopy and cataract surgery will be displayed in the operating rooms. Attendees also will learn about a “nerve block” procedure that is frequently performed to reduce pain and improve comfort following surgery.
Located on the NCH hospital campus in Arlington Heights, the Day Surgery Center is a leading provider of outpatient surgical services in Illinois. Each year more than 200 doctors perform approximately 8,000 outpatient surgeries within the facility's 10 operating rooms. The Day Surgery Center provides a comfortable and supportive environment for both patients and their loved ones. Features include state of the art operating rooms, private recovery bays and a full-service waiting room with a children's area and computer work space with wireless access.
