Enjoy pasta with a putt and drink with a drive Aug. 8

No golfer goes home hungry from this outing.

Taste on the Tee is a unique feature of the fifth annual Links Technology Cup golf outing Aug. 8 at Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road. The every-other-hole food and beverage experience is anchored by John Barleycorn, the host of a post-event barbecue and open bar.

Returning food vendors include Chandler's Chophouse, John Barleycorn, The Lucky Monk, Moe's Southwest Grill, Moretti's Ristorante and Pizzeria, Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Riccardo's Ristorante, Sam and Harry's, Southern Wine and Spirits, Top Golf, Village Tavern and Whole Foods Market Schaumburg. Newcomers include Embassy Suites, Lagunitas Brewery, Lucky Strike Bowl and Tilted Kilt. Pepsi will provide water and other soft drinks throughout the day.

“The food gets larger and more creative each year,” said Pat Casler, Schaumburg Park Foundation executive vice president. “The dishes from the Taste keep golfers comfortably full as they play all 18 holes and compete in contests.”

The golf outing begins with check-in at 9:30 a.m. The steal of a deal at $150 per golfer includes practice range warm-up, 11 a.m. shotgun start, 18 holes with cart in a scramble format, contests, prizes and delicious food. Other features include the Daily Herald Closest-to-the-Pin Shootout and Woodfield Putt-of-the-Day contests, and the competition for the coveted Links Cup to the top foursome.

The outing benefits the Schaumburg Park Foundation's campaign to renovate the museum at Spring Valley Nature Center.

Registration is available at the Schaumburg Golf Club, online at parkfun.com, or by calling (847) 985-2115.
