Woodstock Theatre appoints new general manager

Classic Cinemas has named Mike Wozny of Crystal Lake as the new general manager of the Woodstock Theatre located at 209 Main St. in historic Woodstock.

A long-time industry veteran, Wozny began his career in the movie industry while a teenager working as an usher for local theatres in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wis.

Deciding the movie industry was where he wanted to work, he moved to Chicago and spent many years in theatre management. He then moved to the distribution side of the industry, working as Midwest Exhibitor Relations Manager for Walt Disney Pictures. In 2000, he became the Exhibitor Representative for Screenvision, where he spent the past 11 years.

Wozny claims that what he most enjoys about being a theater manager is the direct contact with and immediacy of feedback from the patrons. With his background in both theatre management and movie marketing, Wozny's experience and industry knowledge will allow him to effectively provide the best movie-going experience for the patrons of the Woodstock Theatre.
