See the night sky come alive at Spring Valley Aug. 11

There's no party like a meteor party!

Star-gazers young and old are invited to see the sky come alive at the free Perseid Meteor Party from 9 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road.

This star-gazing event is open to all ages to view distant objects in the summer sky while watching for falling stars. Telescopes will be set-up just south of the Nature Center. Interpreters will be on hand to guide gazers through the Summer Triangle, falling stars, planets, constellations and satellites. Star-related activities and crafts will take place in and around the Nature Center throughout the evening.

Families are encouraged to bring their own blanket and folding chair.
