Czech Musician to Perform at Stevenson

Jan Sefl, a musician from the Czech Republic, will join Stevenson High School Director of Orchestras Enrique Vilaseco and David Richards for a cello recital at the school at 7 p.m. Friday, June 29 in the Orchestra Room (Room 2200). The recital is free and open to the public, and is expected to last about 50 minutes.

Those attending may park in lots B or E. The Orchestra Room is on the second floor of the West Building, near the Sports Center entrance.

Sefl, who plays violincello, is a student at the Prague Conservatory. He has performed in France and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to performing, Self also helps his father build and restore harpsichords.

Sefl will perform solo works by Bach and Piatti, then will join Vilaseco and Richards on pieces by Faure, Saint-Saens and Popper. Vilaseco will play violin and Richards will accompany on piano. The three also will perform a piano trio by Chausson.
