Free hearing screenings in Cary

The Cary Lions Club is sponsoring the Lions of Illinois Hearing Van on Monday, June 11.

The hearing van will be located on Route 14 in the parking lot in front of Jewel in Cary from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The free hearing screening takes about 10 to 15 minutes and there are no appointments necessary. The certified technician will provide written test results for your records or to share with your health care provider.

There are many causes of hearing loss — most commonly age. Forty percent over the age of 65 and 80 percent over the age of 85 experience hearing loss, but hearing loss often begins much earlier and goes unnoticed.

You or your family and friends may notice that you’re having occasional difficulty understanding what others are saying or need to increase the volume in order to hear well. Diagnosed early, hearing loss in usually easier to address medically. Take a few minutes to see if you may have early stages of hearing loss so you can hear what you are missing.

This service is provided free by the donations from the community to Cary Lions. For information about the Cary Lions, visit www.carylions.org.
