Dodgeball bounces back into Olympic Park

The dodgeball tournament of the summer bounces into Olympic Park July 13 and 14.

The thirteenth annual National Amateur Dodgeball Association (NADA) Dodgeball Days Outdoor National Championships celebrates one of America's oldest and well-known playground games at Schaumburg Park District's Olympic Park, 1675 E. Old Schaumburg Road. The largest and final event of the 2011-2012 season features the crowning of the outdoor national champions.

The youth competition for boys and girls in fourth through twelfth grades is set for July 13. The event is a Schaumburg CAN program which promotes healthy activity for children. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. A captain's meeting will be at 10 a.m. with matches following at 10:30 a.m. Multiple grade divisions exist for the youth competition. Youth and high school fee is $80 for a team of 6 to 10 players.

The adult competition for ages 18 and older is set for July 14. Packet pick-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. A captain's meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. with matches following at 10 a.m. Men's, women's and co-rec divisions are available. Adult fee is $125 for a team of 6 to 10 players.
