Praise for students’ anti-bullying stance

Students at Hoffman Estates High School appear to have more savvy than the adults in charge (“Hoffman H.S. questions T-shirts’ intent,” May 12 Daily Herald). Standing up to call out the bullies requires a great deal of courage and integrity. School day disruption aside, sending the message is so much more significant than congestion at the entry to the school for a short time. The T-shirt message the students are sending the bullies is, “We see you and we will no longer let you hide.” Congratulations, HEHS students — you are taking a real leadership role.
