Behold: Behan bombs away for Carmel

The strong varsity season for Carmel Catholic freshman softball player Jenny Behan continued Wednesday.

Behan homered, tripled and doubled, driving in 5 runs, as the Corsairs captured a 13-3 decision over visiting Benet Academy in East Suburban Catholic Conference play.

Sophomore Amy Abel went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles for Carmel, while Kelley Dodge was 3-for-5 with a double. Skyler Zak (double, 2 RBI) and Madeline Felipez (4 RBI) were both 2-for-4. Erika Schoenfeld pitched a six-inning complete game in earning the win.

Mundelein 7, Lakes 3: Alex Hemmer hit an inside-the-park homer and went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI for the visiting Mustangs in the North Suburban Conference crossover.

Mundelein (9-12) got 2-for-4 efforts from Maria DeVito and Chloe Peterson, each of whom doubled and knocked in a pair of runs.

Lakes fell to 15-9.
