14th Annual Streamwood Stride to be held on June 9

This event, with over 350 participants and their families, is our premier athletic event providing competitive fun while providing a means to fund our Streamwood Park District Scholarship Program.

Besides being a positive, healthy, family event, all proceeds help support families with financial hardships, participate in recreation programs at the District at no cost or reduced fees.

It will be held at the Park Place Family Recreation Center at 550 S Park Blvd.

The 10K and 5K Run/Walk is held on wide, local neighborhood streets - 85% flat.

The 1 Mile Fun Run is for all ages and the Kiddie Races are for 3-7 year olds.

A Pancake Breakfast with Gluten-free options follows, with pancakes, sausage, juice, milk, coffee and fruit awaiting race participants. Family members are welcome to take part in the breakfast for a charge of $2 for children ages 3-10 years and $4 for those 11 years and older.

Advance registration is available and race packets will be available the day before the race.

Otherwise, the 10K and 5K Run/Walk Race Day registration opens at 6:00 am and ends promptly 15 minutes prior to race.

Babysitting is available from 7:15 - 11 am.

Strollers are welcome, but will be placed in back of groups.

Locker rooms and shower facilities are available.
