Fremd nets key OT victory at Conant

Mid-Suburban West boys water polo leader Fremd picked up a key victory Tuesday, outlasting host Conant 11-10 in overtime to maintain a perfect showing in the division.

Conant had produced its best play of the season over the weekend in a tournament at Glenbrook South and has been competitive with top teams all season. The Cougars dropped to 7-5 overall and 3-3 in the West, while Fremd improved to 12-4 overall and 6-0 in the West.

Buffalo Grove 10, Prospect 3: Ian Rodriguez scored a game-best 6 goals as the host Bison outscored the Knights 4-1 in the third quarter to take control in an MSL East win.

The Bison (9-3, 5-1) also got 3 goals from Ryan Chlopowicz. They trail division leader Wheeling by 1 game.

Hersey 12, Elk Grove 9: George Vladimirov and Carlos Andina had 3 goals apiece as the host Huskies improved to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the MSL East.

Marek Burtan had 3 goals for Elk Grove (4-9, 2-4).

Hoffman Estates 11, Barrington 0: Kevin Jatich and Sang Han each scored 3 goals in a dominant MSL West effort from the host Hawks (9-6, 3-3). Adam Pasnicki and Mike Desider both had 2 goals.
