Two More Individuals Charged Following Investigation Into Possession of Synthetic Cannabis

On Friday March 30, 2012, two additional arrest warrants were obtained in regards to the executed search warrant conducted at the Shell gas station located at 184 W. North Avenue on March 22, 2012. The search warrant was the culmination of several weeks of undercover purchases of synthetic cannabis at the gas station. The Shell gas station was checked and was found to be in possession of synthetic cannabis, commonly sold under name brands such as K2, Spice, Wild Greens, Pink Panther, Hindu Magic and Kush.

Subsequent investigation led to two additional individuals being charged:

Shell Gas Station, 184 W. North Ave, West Chicago, IL:

Gopesh R. Patel, 53 years of age, resident of the 300 block of Tuttle Dr, Bloomingdale IL, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, a Class X felony, punishable by up to 6-30 years in jail. His bond was set at $200,000.00. He turned himself in to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office on April 2, 2012.

Rajinder K. Shoor, 42 years of age, resident of the 1200 block of Narragansett Dr, Carol Stream IL, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, a Class X felony, punishable by up to 6-30 years in jail. His bond was set at $200,000.00. He turned himself in to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office on April 3, 2012.

This investigation was brought to a successful conclusion by working in collaboration with the DuPage County Sheriff's Office and the Office of the DuPage County State's Attorney.
