Go wild with native plants at Spring Valley

Learn how to incorporate native plants into home gardens at Spring Valley.

Going Wild in the Tame Garden, set for 7 to 8 p.m., April 10 and 9 to 10 a.m., April 14 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road, will showcase native plants. These plants are esteemed for their environmental benefits, but many gardeners are hesitant to incorporate them into their carefully managed gardens and planted beds. Donna Johnson, a master gardener from Schaumburg Community Garden Club, will help familiarize participants with many of the Chicago area's beautiful natives and suggest some unique, creative and visually stunning ways of incorporating them into the home landscape.

Admission is free, but registration is required the day before each class.
