Rolling Meadows HS color guard places at state

The Rolling Meadows High School Winter Color Guard competed at the Team Dance Illinois State Contest March 4 at the Peoria Civic Center.

Rolling Meadows presented a strong showing in this final competition. In the Short Flag category, the RMHS squad scored a 93.2 to earn second place. In the Lyrical Flag category, the RMHS squad came in third place with a 94.8 score, and also earned the highest technical scores of the category.

The RMHS Winter Color Guard consists of members: Desdemona Alvarez, Christina Crusius, Emma Corradi, Lisa Kawalek, Sohyun Kim, Meredith Lenihan, Kelsey O’Shields, Danielle Sioui, Amanda Vo, and Christine Wurster. Christopher Buti and Okema Gunn are the team’s coaches.

The Short Flag routine was performed to the song “Someone Like You” by Adele; the Lyrical Flag routine was performed to “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri.
