Des Plaines summer camp registrations begins

Registration for Des Plaines Park District summer camps will begin 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, for residents and Monday, March 26, for nonresidents at the Administrative and Leisure Center, 2222 Birch St. Both half-day and full-day camps, with before- and after-care options, are available. Participants can choose from traditional day camps with themed activity weeks, sports camp, sailing camp, an adventure camp with daily field trips and dance and arts camps that perform on stage at the Prairie Lakes Theatre.

Campers take advantage of paddle boating and fishing at Lake Opeka, swimming at Chippewa Pool, Iroquois pool and Mystic Waters, mini golf at Mountain View Mines Adventure Center, the Game Room at the Leisure Center, as well as field trips, sports, games, crafts, outdoor play, and exercise in safe, supervised, fun environments.

Camps are available for children ages 3-14 and start as low as $64.50 a week. Payment plans are available.

Residents and nonresidents can take advantage of Early Bird Camp Specials which offer a reduced camp rate and a Recreation Relief Card good for discounts on admissions to Mountain View Adventure Center, Mystic Waters, Chippewa and Iroquois Pools, Lake Park Golf Course and Marina, the Golf Center Des Plaines, as well as classes and concessions, by registering by May 15.

Registration for Spring classes also begins on March 19/March 26. A wide variety of classes including performing arts, music, dance, martial arts, sports, and fitness; as well as trips for children, families, and adults; early childhood and adult classes; and district events are available.
