Dist. 214 offers motivational speech delivered in Spanish March 19
The District 214 Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee will sponsor a motivational presentation delivered in Spanish by Lt. Col. Consuelo Kickbusch.
The talk, which will focus on family leadership and helping students use education to improve their future, begins at 7 p.m. Monday, March 19 at the Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.
Born and raised in Laredo, Texas, where she overcame the challenges of poverty, discrimination and illiteracy, Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch became the highest-ranking Hispanic woman in the Combat Support Field of the U.S. Army. She has worked with more than 1 million children, parents and educators in 43 states and was cited in Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics in America.”
In addition to the presentation, there will be student awards, dance performances, a raffle, and refreshments.
