Wig Boutique hosts grand opening March 14

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is proud to partner with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to open the newly constructed wig boutique. Patients, community members and cancer survivors are invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 14 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm in the Cancer Care Center. The boutique will provide new wigs at no cost to cancer patients.

“The funds to purchase these brand new wigs are collected locally by community members who participate in Relay For Life,” said Chris Hensley, American Cancer Society regional vice president. “We are honored to turn their donations into items that benefit the patients at Good Samaritan Hospital.”

Fittings can be scheduled by contacting the American Cancer Society at 630.932.1151. In addition, Good Samaritan Hospital in partnership with ACS also offers the "Look Good...Feel Better" class, taught by trained cosmetologists, to teach patients how to apply makeup and use scarves or wigs to enhance their appearance.

“We are very excited to have this great resource on our campus for the women being treated for cancer,” said Dr. Janet Chin, oncologist on staff at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. “It's a really great service and convenience for our patients.”

The Cancer Care Center is located on the campus of Good Samaritan Hospital at 3815 Highland Avenue in Downers Grove.
