Sun City, Huntley High School bands to perform

The Sun City Concert Band is currently rehearsing for its next concert, the fifth annual “Festival of Music,” which will be a combined concert with the Huntley High School Band.

The concert will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the Huntley High School Performing Arts Center, 13719 Harmony Road. The concert will feature a variety of all new music. This is the fifth year the two bands have combined in a special concert for the Huntley community. Last year’s concert was most successful and this year will be even better.

The event is free, but donations will be accepted at the door to benefit the Huntley High School Band program.

Last year, donations totaled $1,163 to which the Sun City Band added another $1,000 for a total of $2,163. The Sun City Band also presented scholarships to Preet Dhillon and Jenna Gaudio, both Huntley High School band members, in the amount of $500 each.
