Fox Lake man charged with vehicle burglaries

A 22-year-old Fox Lake man has been charged with breaking into and stealing from multiple vehicles in McHenry, according to police.

McHenry County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person going through several vehicles on the 4900 block of Pistakee Drive at about 1:47 a.m. and Jan. 9 and later arrested Justin A. Dawson.

Police identified Dawson as a suspect and were able to recover items that were burglarized from the vehicles, according to authorities.

Dawson, of the 1200 block of Shagbark Court, was charged with three counts of felony burglary and three counts of theft, police said.

Dawson turned himself in on Tuesday to the McHenry County jail without incident.

A judge set bail at $50,000, and Dawson is due in court Jan. 27.
