Second half lifts Hoffman Estates

Hoffman Estates could not afford another rough third quarter as it trailed Francis Parker by 2 points at halftime Wednesday morning in the Elgin Boys Varsity Basketball Tournament.

The Hawks turned the deficit into a 5-point lead after three quarters and broke a four-game losing streak with a 64-60 victory at Chesbrough Field House.

Austin Terry scored 18 points and Brian Cvitkovich scored 14 to lead the Hawks (4-7), who will play for 13th place at 11:15 a.m. Thursday. Darion Brown and Connor Schwarz added 9 points apiece as they turned a 30-28 halftime deficit into a 46-41 lead.

Judd Barron scored 22 points and hit four 3s and Langdon Neal added 21 points for Parker (7-5), which plays for 15th place at 9:45 a.m.
