Dundee-Crown 58, Larkin 41: Dundee-Crown girls basketball coach Michelle Russell and her team couldn't have asked for more momentum going into next Monday's Charger Classic opener against undefeated and top seed Bartlett.

Senior Ali Sanders scored a career-high 23 points and had 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals Tuesday as the Chargers won for the seventh straight time, downing Larkin 58-41 in a nonconference game in Elgin.

"We played decent," said Russell. "There's still too many silly turnovers that we need to get rid of before next week but they're playing hard. We haven't won like this in a while so it's exciting for them.

"Seven wins in a row is nice. Ali had a nice game today. Her shots were falling and she's leading the team like a senior should."

Senior sharpshooter Carlin Faulkner also returned to the lineup for the Chargers (7-4) from an ankle injury and scored 8 points to go along with 5 steals.

"It was her first game back and she did well," said Russell of the 5-foot-3 Faulkner. "She was short on some shots early, which was to be expected, but then she hit some."

Senior Diamond Williams scored 14 points and had 13 rebounds for D-C, while Emily Michalski had 5 rebounds. The Chargers led 24-15 after one quarter, 34-21 at halftime and 47-28 by the end of the third.

Jill Casebeer and Victoria Patterson had 12 points each for Larkin (1-13).
