Memorial service planned for VH teen

A memorial service will be held today for a Vernon Hills teen who died this week.

Alexander Guletsky, 18, graduated from Vernon Hills High School this year and was attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The service is set for 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 595 Deerpath Road, Vernon Hills.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview.

Guletsky died Wednesday, the Champaign County coroner’s office said.

Guletsky was a student council president at Vernon Hills High. He was on the varsity football team and a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America.

He also was a member of the 2010-11 Daily Herald Lake County Leadership Team.
