Meadows’ Pacer staff plants bulbs for breast cancer
For the third year, staff members of The Pacer, the school newspaper at Rolling Meadows High School, have planted pink tulip bulbs to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
During that time, The Pacer has planted more than 250 bulbs in front of the school. The project coincides with the American Cancer Society’s Northwest Suburban Region’s “Plant It Pink” program.
In addition to planting the bulbs, The Pacer staff provided extensive coverage of breast cancer in its October issue.
The paper’s usual second color, “Mustang Purple,” was changed to pink in the October issue.
