Celebrate literacy at literary coffee Dec. 15 to benefit the GECRC

The Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center announces the second annual literary event featuring guest speaker Barbara Rinella. Join us on Thursday, Dec. 15 from 9:30-11:45 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 393 N. Main St. in Glen Ellyn.

Take a break from the holiday madness and treat yourself to coffee, conversation and the amazing Barbara Rinella.

A former teacher, Barbara defines herself as an “academic entertainer”. For years she has been celebrating literature and learning through her delightful programs on current books. Her dramatization will touch upon multiple life stories, including Andre Agassi's autobiography "Open," Stacey Schiff's "Cleopatra: A Life," and Greg Mortenson's "Stones Into School" because all three books - some controversial - lead to the recognition that education is the answer and success comes through discipline, hard work and perseverance!

Tickets are $45 and need to be purchased in advance. Please mail checks payable to GECRC to:

C/O Kelly Keogh, 457 Hawthorne, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.

Due to space constraints, the event is limited to 200 attendees. Reservations will be secured with payment.

All proceeds will benefit the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center. The mission of the GECRC is to help local children from low-income families acquire the necessary skills in academics and social interaction to move successfully through grade school into adulthood.
