Dist. 211 puts the arts on display Nov. 16

The High School District 211 Foundation is sponsoring its third annual Foundation of the Arts event, 7 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the Palatine High School cafeteria, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine.

The program includes performances by jazz bands from all five District 211 high schools along with a display of art works created by District 211 students. Student artists will be available to describe their inspirations and resulting art works.

Students from Conant High School's “Cougar Perks” program will have delicious baked goods and beverages available throughout the evening at reasonable prices.

This program provides an opportunity for parents and community members to hear, see and taste the multiple talents of District 211 students. Jazz bands will perform music sets of approximately 15-20 minutes in the following order: Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Conant, Schaumburg, and Fremd.

The evening also will feature jazz vocal ensembles from Palatine, Hoffman Estates and Fremd high schools, as well as performances by the Schaumburg High School Improv Troupe, in between musical performances.

Tickets are available at the door: $6 for adults and $2 for students. All proceeds will go to support programs that benefit students and staff at all District 211 schools.
