Palatine H.S. performs classic comedy, 'Harvey'
Palatine High School will present its fall play, “Harvey,” the classic comedy written by Mary Chase about Elwood P. Dowd and his imaginary 6½-foot-tall rabbit.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20-22, in the school's Altergott Auditorium, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine.
In the play, Veta, Elwood's sister, decides she cannot tolerate Harvey any more, so she commits Elwood into a sanitarium. Problems arise when Veta herself is mistakenly assumed to be on the verge of lunacy and is committed instead of Elwood.
Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 for students and children.
Elwood P. Dowd entertains his imaginary friend, Harvey, with a little reading from Jane Austen.
