Che not a good role model for students

Palatine High School has many displays, one of them celebrates “Hispanic month.”

As I looked closer, I noticed a T-shirt showing the terrorist Che Guevara. Che was a committed communist who killed numerous civilians. Why is Palatine celebrating this person? The principal responded that this was the decision of the group at school. Well, when will we see Stalin and Hitler displayed to celebrate Russian and German culture? Not likely.

The display failed to mention some excellent role models for our students. How about U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, ever hear of him? No, how about General Sanchez, the commander of all coalition forces in Iraq? No, how about Admiral Lopez, a sailor who made it from the lowest rank to 4-star admiral? No, how about Master Sgt. Roy Benavides, recipient of the Medal of Honor for saving many lives in Vietnam.

Where is Palatine High School going with this extreme political correctness? How do we expect our youth to take over this country if they are taught to honor Che, a terrorist and murderer?

Not good, not good at all.
